     Seharusnya misi kali ini tak ada bedanya dengan misi-misi sebelumnya. USS John Paul Jones sekali lagi harus mengarungi laut lepas untuk menjalankan tugas. Yang tak masuk perhitungan para awak kapal adalah munculnya benda aneh yang menghadang jalur pelayaran kapal perang yang dikomandani oleh Admiral Shane (Liam Neeson) ini.      Radar kapal USS John Paul Jones tak bisa mengidentifikasi benda aneh ini dan terpaksa awak kapal harus turun dan mendekati benda ini. Tak disangka, benda aneh ini ternyata tak menyambut ramah awak kapal USS John Paul Jones.
